Odesa has joined the list of cities where the 1st Recruitment Center of the Ground Forces of the AFU operates

The reach of the 1st Recruitment Center of the Ground Forces of the AFU has expanded further — the map of cities with offices now includes the glorious Cossack pearl on the Black Sea coast — the city of Odesa.
Today, June 18, 2025, a stationary point of the 1st Recruitment Center of the Ground Forces of the AFU opened at the Central Railway Station in Odesa. Similar points, initiated by the Center's chief, Lieutenant Colonel Ruslan Furdylo, already operate in Lviv, Kyiv, and Dnipro, and as of today — in Odesa as well.

What do the military recruiters of the 1st Ground Forces Center offer?

The 1st Recruitment Center of the Ground Forces of the AFU is a separate unit formed in accordance with the directive of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Thanks to its work, everyone in Ukraine has the opportunity to independently choose their place of service in the Ground Forces — from position to unit and duty station.

The 1st Recruitment Center of the Ground Forces of the AFU continues to actively expand its presence across Ukraine. Today, June 16, 2025, a new office has opened in the city of Dnipro. A stationary recruitment point offering the Center's full range of services has started operating at the Central Railway Station. This event, like the previous openings in Kyiv and Lviv, became possible thanks to the initiative of Lieutenant Colonel Ruslan Furdylo — head of the 1st Recruitment Center since its founding.

Lieutenant Colonel Ruslan Furdylo is convinced that building a regional network will greatly ease the path for future recruits. Now joining Ukraine's Defense Forces has become even easier — consultations, the medical commission, and paperwork are possible right in one's home city. Besides Dnipro, stationary recruitment points already operate in Kyiv and Lviv, with an opening in Odesa planned in the near future.

What does the stationary point in Dnipro offer?

By visiting the Central Railway Station in Dnipro, anyone interested can use all of the Center's services. Here you can get comprehensive information about open vacancies in the Ground Forces, choose a suitable position, and start your path to service. In Dnipro, you can now also undergo the military medical commission, take tests, and process your personal file with subsequent assignment to units. The 1st Recruitment Center of the Ground Forces of the AFU has opened in Lviv

A landmark event took place in Lviv. The 1st Recruitment Center of the Ground Forces of the AFU has opened its office in the city. This was initiated by the Center's chief, Lieutenant Colonel Ruslan Furdylo. From now on, residents and visitors of the city have the opportunity to learn about mobilization options and open vacancies in all Ground Forces brigades, including for signing a contract, from 1st Recruitment Center specialists who will work at Lviv's Central Railway Station.

“Supporting citizens and their desire to join the ranks of Ukraine's Defense Forces is always a priority for us,” said Lieutenant Colonel Ruslan Furdylo at the opening of the Lviv office, “given that previously, to process documents, including undergoing the medical commission and tests, potential recruits had to travel to us in Kyiv, spending time and extra money, I decided to make this path easier for them. By opening our hub in the glorious City of the Lion, we will be able to significantly simplify joining the units of the Ground Forces of the AFU not only for Lviv residents, but for all Ukrainians living in the western part of our country. After all, getting to Lviv will be much easier for them than traveling to Kyiv.”

Now all services provided by the 1st Recruitment Center of the Ground Forces of the AFU can be obtained at a convenient stationary recruitment point that will operate at the railway station daily, except Sunday — from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and until 2 p.m. on Saturday.

So what does the 1st Recruitment Center offer?

The 1st Recruitment Center of the Ground Forces of the AFU is a relatively young unit that started operating only last year. However, under the leadership of Ruslan Furdylo, in this short period it has already achieved considerable results and deservedly earned respect and recognition among both civilians and servicemen. 127th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade

The 127th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade is more than just a military formation. It is the shield and symbol of resistance of the hero city of Kharkiv. From the first hours of russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, the soldiers of this brigade stood up to defend their native city, showing the whole world that willpower, one's own land, and combat brotherhood can stop even a superior enemy.

Formation of the brigade
The 127th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade was formed in January 2022 as part of the territorial defense system of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It included both volunteers from the Kharkiv region and ATO/JFO veterans, former servicemen, medics, engineers, students, IT workers, and ordinary residents of the city.
Despite the fact that most fighters had no combat experience, the motivation to defend their home gave them the strength to quickly learn and adapt to the conditions of full-scale war.

Combat path and the defense of Kharkiv
From the first days of the large-scale aggression, the 127th Brigade became a stronghold of Kharkiv's defense. They operated under constant artillery and rocket terror, conducted reconnaissance, held positions in the suburbs, fought enemy sabotage groups, and took part in street fighting.

Key areas of the brigade's operations:

Northern outskirts of Kharkiv (Saltivka, Piatykhatky, the Sirko area)

Defense of units in Northern Slobozhanshchyna

Counteroffensive toward Tsyrkuny, Ruska Lozova, Kozacha Lopan

Ensuring the stability of the rear and logistics in the city

Their contribution was decisive in stopping attempts to encircle Kharkiv and in later pushing the enemy out of the region in the fall of 2022.

“The city is our home. We are its walls.”
These words reflect the main mission of the 127th Brigade — not just to hold weapons, but to stand as a wall between peaceful life and war, preserving life, dignity, and independence.
The 127th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade is the spirit of Kharkiv, armed with faith, courage, and love for its land.
