Senior Gun Layer

Overview

The 17th Separate Heavy Mechanized Kryvyi Rih Brigade is a formation within the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From 2014 to the present, it has taken an active part in the war against the occupiers. The brigade has fought for Sloviansk, Ilovaisk, and Debaltseve, and defended Mariupol. With the start of the full-scale invasion, the unit carried out missions in eastern and southern Ukraine.

Responsibilities:

  • quickly and accurately aiming the gun according to the gun commander's orders
  • continuous monitoring of the readiness of sighting devices and gun-laying mechanisms for combat use
  • ensuring the proper operation, maintenance, and repair of fire control equipment, including optical and electronic systems
  • compliance with established safety rules and requirements while performing duties
  • compliance with discipline and chain of command rules

Requirements:

  • ability to work in a team and navigate changing conditions
  • knowledge of the tactics and strategy of conducting combat operations
  • ability to work in stressful situations
  • confident communication skills
  • responsibility and ability to make quick and well-founded decisions
  • ability to work under high stress
  • ability to follow established rules and procedures

Conditions:

  • mobilization until the end of martial law or contract service
  • monetary allowance from 23,000 to 123,000 hryvnias depending on tasks and orders performed
  • social guarantees, provision of gear and necessary equipment
  • guaranteed annual main leave (2 parts of 15 days each) and the possibility of additional leave for family circumstances
  • support in a friendly team of motivated, active, proactive soldiers and reasonable commanders
  • processing of Combat Veteran status and other benefits
