EW Engineer

Overview

The 61st Separate Mechanized Stepova (Steppe) Brigade was formed in 2015 within the Reserve Corps of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the full-scale invasion by the occupiers, it took part in the liberation of Kherson and the Kherson region, in the battles at Soledar and in the Avdiivka sector, and in the operation in the Kursk sector. The electronic warfare unit that is part of the brigade belongs to the combat support units and does not take part in direct combat engagements. The unit carries out combat missions to detect and counter enemy UAVs of tactical and operational-tactical level. The unit is currently looking for motivated candidates who are willing to diligently study, work, and serve their country.

Responsibilities:

  • maintaining, installing, adjusting, and commissioning EW equipment
  • routine repair and modernization of current EW equipment to improve their combat effectiveness
  • designing and manufacturing prototypes of ELINT/EW equipment or their individual components
  • conducting field tests of EW equipment and measuring their overall characteristics as well as those of individual components (antenna-feeder systems, power supplies, amplifiers, etc.)
  • selecting, procuring, and testing antenna-feeder systems, measuring their characteristics to improve the effectiveness of the final asset
  • analyzing enemy UAV control protocols to find effective countermeasures
  • creating, testing, and commissioning radio-frequency spectrum monitoring points based on SDR technology

Requirements:

  • understanding of the operating principles and construction of EW systems
  • understanding of the operating principles of antennas, experience calculating and designing them will be an advantage
  • practical experience designing and adjusting radio-electronic equipment and its components, or practical experience working in a related field, will be an advantage
  • practical programming experience in Python, C will be an advantage
  • understanding of the principles and methods of digital signal processing
  • practical experience working with SDR receivers and related software
  • no harmful habits (alcohol, drug, gambling dependency, etc.)
  • desire to learn, grow, and work

Conditions:

  • mobilization until the end of martial law or contract service
  • monetary allowance from 20,000 to 100,000 hryvnias depending on rank and place of service
