Operator of unmanned aerial systems (UAS)

Overview

Unmanned Aircraft Systems Operator (UAS Operator) is a serviceman responsible for the preparation, operation and use of unmanned aircraft systems in accordance with the assigned tasks.

This is a specialist who combines technical knowledge, skills in managing unmanned systems, analytical thinking and the ability to quickly respond to changes in the situation. The work of the UAS operator is an important component of modern military operations and providing the unit with the necessary information.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of unmanned aerial systems, equipment and controls for operation. Control of unmanned aerial vehicles in accordance with the assigned tasks. Carrying out aerial surveillance and collecting information using on-board equipment. Control of the technical condition of unmanned systems, means of communication and control. Carrying out pre-flight and post-flight inspections. Identification of technical faults and interaction with specialists to eliminate them. Processing the information received and transferring it to the relevant specialists of the unit. Maintaining the necessary documentation and reporting. Compliance with the rules of operation of equipment, safety measures and established procedures. Interaction with crew members and other military personnel during the performance of tasks.

Requirements:

• Age from 18 years. Discipline, responsibility and attentiveness. Motivation to perform military service. Willingness to work in a team and perform tasks. Confident use of a computer and modern digital technologies. Basic technical knowledge and ability to work with complex equipment. Developed spatial thinking, good concentration and stress resistance. Ability to learn quickly and master new technologies. Experience with UAS or other unmanned systems will be an advantage. Readiness for specialized training.
