Gun Layer
Overview
An artillery gunner is a military specialist responsible for precise aiming, laying, and firing an artillery piece or mortar. They operate the laying mechanisms, taking distance and combat conditions into account, in order to hit the target. The main task is fast, accurate engagement of the enemy on the commander's orders.
Responsibilities:
- Quick, accurate aiming of the gun at designated targets
- Keeping aiming devices and laying mechanisms combat-ready
- Maintenance and inspection of the gun and observation devices
- Interacting with the commander and other crew members
Requirements:
- fitness for military service by state of health
- high discipline and capacity for learning
- readiness to work in active combat zones
Conditions:
- mobilization until the end of martial law or contract service
- possibility of service for candidates who, per the Military Medical Commission's findings, have limited fitness for military service
- provision of modern equipment and machinery
- full support at all stages of enrolling for service
