Otolaryngologist

Overview

The 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Mariupol Brigade is a motorized infantry brigade within the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stationed in the Donetsk region. The brigade was formed in early 2015 following the start of russian aggression in 2014. In 2022, the unit took part in the battles for Mariupol, Volnovakha, Pisky, Vuhledar, Huliaipole, and Bakhmut.

Responsibilities:

• Providing emergency medical care for injuries of the respiratory system, ear, throat, and nose (fractures, bruises, breathing problems, etc.)
• Performing initial damage diagnostics, assessing patients' condition, and determining the necessary medical intervention measures
• Performing airway clearance and restoration, treating bleeding, wound healing, providing aid for frostbite or burns of the upper respiratory tract
• Performing surgical treatment (if necessary), treating wounds, performing drainage, and immobilizing injured areas
• Performing rehabilitation and supporting respiratory function after injuries
• Working with modern medical equipment, instruments, and evacuation devices
• Documenting injuries, aid provided, and maintaining medical reports
• Interacting with surgeons, anesthesiologists, paramedics, and other brigade medical staff
• Continuously maintaining professional skills, participating in tactical medicine and military field training exercises

Requirements:

• desire to serve Ukraine and defend the Motherland
• medical education in "Otolaryngology" with relevant training in this field
• experience working in an ENT department or in emergency medical care — preferred
• knowledge of tactical medicine principles, providing aid in combat conditions, and working with limited resources
• ability to provide aid for injuries of the respiratory system, ear, throat, and nose; treat wounds and stop bleeding
• skills working with modern medical equipment and instruments
• readiness to act under stressful and combat conditions, make quick decisions, and perform tasks responsibly
• physical endurance, discipline, psychological resilience
• desire to develop, undergo additional drills, and advance your skills
• fitness for military service based on health condition (possibility of service for candidates who, per the Military Medical Commission's findings, are fit for service in support units, TCC and SP, military educational institutions, training centers, etc.)

Conditions:

• possibility of service for candidates with "unfit for military service" status
• a fixed-term contract of 3 or 5 years
