Overview

The 24th Separate Assault Battalion "Aidar" is a professional assault unit of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, formed in 2014 on the wave of the Revolution of Dignity. The battalion took part in the fiercest battles in eastern Ukraine in 2014-2022 and continues to carry out combat missions at the front today.
We combine the experience of a professional army with an unbreakable volunteer spirit. A clear goal, coordinated action, brotherhood, and motivation — this is what sets "Aidar" apart.

A Mortarman is a service member of an artillery unit who strikes targets at various distances using the arcing trajectory of mortar rounds, which allows targets to be hit behind cover.
Mortars provide fire support to infantry units, helping them overcome the enemy's defenses and hold captured positions.
They can effectively destroy enemy firing points, such as machine-gun nests and grenade launcher positions located behind cover.

Responsibilities:

• deploying, packing up, and aiming the mortar unit
• destroying enemy firing positions, shelters, and dugouts
• working with 80mm and 120mm mortars and other types of foreign-made weapons
• Preparing the mortar and ammunition for use and transporting them
• ensuring the proper storage of ammunition and compliance with safety regulations
• maintaining and keeping the mortar system in good working order
• continuous improvement of one's professional skills

Requirements:

• readiness to perform tasks in combat areas
• desire to destroy the enemy
• desire to serve and develop in an elite military unit
• high motivation, ability to work in a team and learn, sociability
• a sufficient level of physical fitness
• ability to perform mathematical calculations
• technical education will be an advantage
• experience working with mortar systems will be an advantage

Conditions:

• service in a legendary unit with combat experience since 2014
• a professional team and support from fellow soldiers
• full provision of necessary equipment and gear
• the opportunity for additional training and obtaining a specialized qualification (crew member, gunner, mortar commander)
• monetary allowance from 20,000 to 120,000 hryvnias depending on the assigned task
• annual main leave of 30 days + additional 10-day leave for family circumstances
• social protection and life insurance of 15 million UAH
• the opportunity to obtain Combat Veteran status
