Radio Operator

Overview

A radio-telephone operator is responsible for organizing and maintaining communication between units under military conditions, ensuring the prompt exchange of information, and coordinating the actions of command and combat groups. The signaler's main task is ensuring uninterrupted radio and telephone communication, setting up communications equipment, and maintaining communication in field conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Configuring and maintaining communications equipment (radio stations, phones, satellite devices);
• Ensuring uninterrupted communication between command posts and combat units;
• Monitoring communication quality, diagnosing, and fixing technical malfunctions;
• Maintaining communication channels in field conditions and during combat operations;
• Performing cryptographic protection of communications and maintaining confidentiality of information;
• Collaborating with other units to maintain stable communication during combat operations.

Requirements:

• Vocational or higher education (preferably technical or in telecommunications);
• Experience working with radio and telecommunications equipment;
• Knowledge of the basics of cryptography and information security is preferred;
• A high level of technical literacy, attention to detail;
• Physical endurance and readiness to work in field conditions;
• Responsibility, discipline, the ability to act in extreme conditions.
