Sapper
Overview
A sapper is a military specialist who handles demining, and the laying and neutralization of explosive devices, mines, and other engineering obstacles. They work with various types of explosives, ensuring the safety of combat units and civilians. The sapper's role requires great attention to detail, composure, and thorough preparation, since the lives and safety of others often depend on their work. Responsibilities:
- Detecting, identifying, and neutralizing explosive devices, mines, and other dangerous objects;
- Preparing and installing engineering obstacles and traps to protect positions and slow enemy movement;
- Clearing areas of explosive threats, ensuring safe passage for troops and equipment;
- Working with various explosives, tools, and demining equipment;
- Conducting engineering reconnaissance of terrain to detect potential threats;
- Keeping records and preparing reports on tasks performed and objects neutralized.
Requirements:
- Vocational or higher education in engineering, preferably with a focus on explosives;
- Completion of specialized training for working with explosive devices; sapper certification will be an advantage;
- A high level of concentration, composure, the ability to act in stressful situations;
- Excellent skills working with engineering equipment and tools;
- Physical endurance, readiness to work in various conditions, often in open and dangerous areas;
- Developed analytical skills, ability to make decisions in difficult circumstances…
