Mortarman

Overview

A mortarman is a specialist in using mortar weapons to engage enemy targets at medium and long range. Their role in combat is strategic: they provide artillery support, destroy enemy fortifications and equipment, and adjust fire according to the combat situation. A mortarman works as part of a crew and is responsible for firing accuracy, the speed of deploying and packing up the system, and its technical condition.

Responsibilities:

• Working with 82mm, 120mm, and other caliber mortars and other weapon types;
• Quality laying, prompt correction, and restoring aim after firing;
• Deploying, packing up, and maintaining the mortar system;
• Carrying out fire missions on the commander's order;
• Interaction with spotters to improve fire accuracy;
• Continuously improving combat skills.

Requirements:

• Experience working with mortar systems or willingness to learn quickly;
• Fitness for military service based on health condition;
• Physical endurance and combat resilience;
• Ability to work in a team and react quickly to changes in the combat situation.

Conditions:

• - Official mobilization until the end of martial law or contract service;
• Monetary allowance from 20,000 to 120,000 hryvnias depending on combat tasks and place of service;
• Training in the chosen specialty at Armed Forces of Ukraine training centers;
• Provision of uniform, personal protective equipment, and full meals;
• Free medical care and financial compensation in case of injury;
• Social benefits and Combat Veteran status.
