Overview

The 42nd Separate Mechanized Brigade is a formation within the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The brigade was formed in 2023. Since the summer of 2023, the unit's soldiers have successfully carried out combat missions in eastern Ukraine in the area of the Serebrianskyi forest and in the Bakhmut sector. Since May 2024, the brigade has been defending Kharkiv region.

Responsibilities:

• compliance with military discipline and execution of orders
• keeping weapons and assigned equipment in constant combat readiness
• search for and neutralization of mines and shells
• eliminating explosive objects

Requirements:

• age from 18
• desire and readiness to master the sapper trade
• an engineering/technical education will be an advantage
• fitness for military service
• ability to work in a team
• high level of responsibility
• good physical shape
• permit for mine-clearing and blasting operations will be an advantage

Conditions:

• mobilization until the end of martial law or contract service for a term of 3-5 years
• monetary allowance from 20,000 to 190,000 hryvnias depending on rank, position, and the specifics of combat task performance
• training before taking up the position
• possibility of transferring current servicemen with the direct commander's consent
