Overview

The 5th Separate Rifle Battalion is a military formation within the 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The battalion was formed on March 3, 2022, in the city of Uzhhorod. The unit fought its first battle in April 2022 in the Luhansk region, where, as part of the Defense Forces, it held back the enemy's advance on Severodonetsk and Lysychansk. After restoring its combat capability, the battalion returned to carrying out combat missions. The battalion's history will always include the defense of the Chernihiv region's border area, the Avdiivka defensive operation, and the battles for Robotyne in the southern sector.

Responsibilities:

• carrying out combat missions as part of the unit
• aerial reconnaissance, detecting and destroying the enemy using aerial payload drops and FPV drones
• carrying out reconnaissance missions
• collecting, analyzing, and promptly reporting to the commander information on enemy forces and potential threats detected while performing assigned tasks
• adjusting artillery fire
• decoding video materials
• recording and storing video footage of destroyed enemy equipment and enemy personnel
• maintaining various types of drones and equipment for their operation

Requirements:

• age 18 to 40
• readiness to work in the combat zone
• fitness for military service by state of health
• experience working with UAVs will be an advantage
• ability to work with computer applications and electronic devices
• experience maintaining and repairing electronics will be a significant advantage
• knowledge of, or willingness to acquire knowledge in, aeronavigation, electronics, or information technology
• education and work experience in radio engineering, automation, programming, or telecommunications will be an advantage

Conditions:

• mobilization until the end of martial law or contract service
• monetary allowance from 51,000 to 121,000 hryvnias depending on the assigned task and place of service
