Overview

The 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians is a military formation of the mechanized forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is stationed in the city of Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region. Since 2014, the brigade has taken part in the war in eastern Ukraine as part of the ATO/JFO forces, including heavy fighting on the russian-Ukrainian border, in the Azov Sea coastal area, and near Avdiivka in the industrial zone. At the start of the full-scale invasion, the brigade defended Kyiv. The soldiers of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade took part in the battles for Irpin, Moshchun, Hostomel, and Bucha. Since the summer, the brigade has been defending Ukraine in the Donbas. The brigade bears its honorary name in honor of the Black Zaporozhians, a military formation from the times of the Ukrainian People's Republic (UNR).

Responsibilities:

  • carrying out combat missions as part of the unit
  • deploying the system, sighting and observation devices, and keeping them ready for use
  • conducting launches from stationary or portable ATGM systems
  • maintaining and operating anti-tank guided missile systems
  • responsibility for the technical condition of the ATGM system, namely its proper preparation for combat use, timely detection and elimination of faults
  • compliance with safety rules during the maintenance and use of the ATGM
  • compliance with the requirements of the regulations and discipline

Requirements:

  • fitness for military service by state of health and moral-psychological qualities
  • desire to study new weapon systems and confidently operate them
  • ability to master new approaches, knowledge, abilities, and skills in practice
  • military service experience and combat experience will be an advantage
  • basic understanding of ballistics, weapon design and specifications, and familiarity with existing Western and Soviet anti-tank guided missile systems will be an advantage (Stugna, Korsar, Kornet, Fagot, Javelin, TOW-2, NLAW)

Conditions:

  • mobilization until the end of martial law or contract service
  • possibility of transferring current servicemen with the direct commander's consent and after mandatory selection procedures
  • a private/sergeant rank position
  • monetary allowance from 21,000 and an additional reward of 100,000 hryvnias, proportional to the days of combat task performance
