Military Translator (English)

Overview

The 20th Separate Electronic Warfare Battalion is a formation within the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Responsibilities:

• providing translation and interpretation of military and military-technical literature from English to Ukrainian and vice versa while located in combat operation areas
• written and oral (simultaneous, consecutive) Ukrainian-English and English-Ukrainian translation of military and military-technical topics
• translating documents, reports, instructions, and other documentation in the military field
• participating in negotiations, conferences, and meetings with foreign partners, providing professional translation and interpretation
• analyzing and studying foreign sources of information in the military field
• organizing and ensuring international cooperation measures in the military and military-technical field
• providing protocol support for international cooperation activities in the military and military-technical sphere
• conducting research in the fields of military translation and international cooperation in the military and military-technical sphere

Requirements:

• officer's military rank: from lieutenant (reserve junior lieutenant) to senior lieutenant
• English proficiency at C1 level or higher
• higher education in a relevant field (linguistics, philology, translation, military translation, international relations, international information, or political science)
• excellent knowledge of Ukrainian and English (minimum SMR-2 level)
• a high level of written and oral translation skills
• ability to work with various translation programs and tools
• responsibility, discipline, organization, ability to work in stressful situations, communication skills
• experience using the Microsoft Office suite and knowledge of staff work basics will be an advantage
• military service experience and/or experience working in government institutions will be an advantage
• knowledge of military terminology and the specifics of military processes will be an advantage

• mobilization until the end of martial law or contract service
• monetary allowance from 25,000 to 55,000 hryvnias
