Tank Commander

Overview

The 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh is a military unit of the mechanized forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Responsibilities:

  • commanding a combat tank as part of a tank platoon
  • carrying out combat missions in accordance with the combat action plan
  • supporting coordination and communication with other crew members
  • compliance with safety rules when operating the tank
  • commanding the crew in combat, being responsible for completing the assigned task
  • zeroing, sighting-in weapons, and firing the tank's weapons
  • orientation on terrain using navigation equipment and maps
  • determining target positions, plotting them on a map, and transmitting data to the platoon commander
  • keeping communication equipment serviceable and ensuring reliable communication with the platoon commander
  • keeping the tank and weapons in serviceable condition, organizing maintenance and repair in case of damage
  • monitoring the expenditure of ammunition and fuel, reporting their use to the platoon commander, and organizing resupply
  • maintaining crew cohesion and constant combat readiness
  • caring for subordinates and reporting their needs to the platoon commander
  • performing the duties of the platoon commander as needed

Requirements:

  • secondary education
  • readiness for military service
  • age from 18
  • military rank starting from junior sergeant
  • knowledge of the tactics of action and the capabilities and methods of employing a tank in various types of combat
  • a state of health that allows performing tasks without loss of physical fitness
  • no dependency on alcohol or drugs
  • physical endurance and readiness for active physical exertion
  • ability to manage people and courage to take responsibility

Conditions:

  • mobilization until the end of martial law or contract service
  • monetary allowance from 20,000 to 120,000 hryvnias depending on place of service
  • social benefits in accordance with current legislation: annual leave — 30 calendar days, leave for family circumstances — up to 10 calendar days per year, medical care
  • social and legal protection guarantees for servicemen and their family members
  • provision of all necessary supplies and equipment, full meals
  • annual monetary wellness assistance
  • annual assistance for resolving social and household issues
  • Combat Veteran status
