Tank Commander

Overview

The 17th Separate Heavy Mechanized Kryvyi Rih Brigade is a formation within the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From 2014 to the present, it has taken an active part in the war against the occupiers. The brigade has fought for Sloviansk, Ilovaisk, and Debaltseve, and defended Mariupol. With the start of the full-scale invasion, the unit carried out missions in eastern and southern Ukraine.

Responsibilities:

• commanding a tank crew, organizing its work and coordinating actions during combat operations
• conducting tactical planning of combat operations involving the tank
• carrying out tasks as part of a tank unit
• using the tank to support airborne and assault operations
• monitoring the technical condition of the tank (checking the engine, running gear, weapons, navigation systems)
• organizing the ongoing maintenance and repair of equipment
• conducting crew combat training exercises
• training subordinates in the tactical use of the tank in combat conditions
• collecting and transmitting information to command about task completion
• analyzing combat operations to improve crew performance

Requirements:

• higher or secondary military education
• 2+ years of experience serving in armored or mechanized units
• knowledge of the design of T-64, T-72, T-80, T-90 tanks or their modifications
• ability to deliver accurate fire from a tank gun, machine gun, and other weapons
• knowledge of the basics of maintaining armored vehicles
• a high level of physical endurance
• ability to make decisions under time constraints
• leadership skills, responsibility, discipline

Conditions:

• mobilization until the end of martial law or contract service
• monetary allowance from 23,000 to 123,000 hryvnias depending on tasks and orders performed
• social guarantees, provision of gear and necessary equipment
• guaranteed annual main leave (2 parts of 15 days each) and the possibility of additional leave for family circumstances
• support in a friendly team of motivated, active, proactive soldiers and reasonable commanders
• processing of Combat Veteran status and other benefits
