Gun Commander

Overview

The 17th Separate Heavy Mechanized Kryvyi Rih Brigade is a formation within the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From 2014 to the present, it has taken an active part in the war against the occupiers. The brigade has fought for Sloviansk, Ilovaisk, and Debaltseve, and defended Mariupol. With the start of the full-scale invasion, the unit carried out missions in eastern and southern Ukraine.

Responsibilities:

• organizing the gun crew's work (loader, gunner, crew)
• monitoring the completion of combat missions and coordinating actions in combat conditions
• determining target coordinates using modern targeting systems
• adjusting artillery fire
• monitoring the technical condition of the gun, optics, and other equipment
• organizing regular maintenance to ensure combat readiness
• training personnel in precise aiming and carrying out combat missions
• maintaining the crew's combat readiness in difficult situations

Requirements:

• military experience (preferably in artillery units or Air Assault Forces)
• knowledge of gun design and firing calculation methods
• ability to work with topographic maps and aiming devices
• leadership skills, responsibility, discipline
• quick reaction to changes and ability to make decisions in combat conditions
• a high level of physical endurance and readiness for service in field conditions

Conditions:

• mobilization until the end of martial law or contract service
• monetary allowance from 23,000 to 123,000 hryvnias depending on tasks and orders performed
• social guarantees, provision of gear and necessary equipment
• guaranteed annual main leave (2 parts of 15 days each) and the possibility of additional leave for family circumstances
• support in a friendly team of motivated, active, proactive soldiers and reasonable commanders
• processing of Combat Veteran status and other benefits
