FPV Drone Pilot

Overview

The 17th Separate Heavy Mechanized Kryvyi Rih Brigade is a formation within the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From 2014 to the present, it has taken an active part in the war against the occupiers. The brigade has fought for Sloviansk, Ilovaisk, and Debaltseve, and defended Mariupol. With the start of the full-scale invasion, the unit carried out missions in eastern and southern Ukraine.

Responsibilities:

• piloting FPV drones
• compliance with safety rules for operating unmanned systems
• understanding the mission's objective and adjusting the drone's usage strategy accordingly
• knowledge of available equipment, channels, ammunition load, batteries, and their combination according to the mission
• planning and executing flight tasks in accordance with the mission
• developing routes taking into account terrain, weather conditions, and air-defense/EW threats

Requirements:

• fitness for military service by state of health and moral-psychological qualities
• ability to work with cartographic software and navigation systems
• responsibility, attentiveness to detail
• experience working with UAVs will be an advantage (if lacking, training at the manufacturer or a training center is possible)
• knowledge of the principles of aerodynamics and navigation will be an advantage

Conditions:

• mobilization until the end of martial law or contract service
• monetary allowance from 21,000 to 121,000 hryvnias depending on tasks and orders performed
• social guarantees, provision of gear and necessary equipment
• guaranteed annual main leave (2 parts of 15 days each) and the possibility of additional leave for family circumstances
• support in a friendly team of motivated, active, proactive soldiers and reasonable commanders
• processing of Combat Veteran status and other benefits
