Battery Sergeant Major

Overview

The 43rd Separate Artillery Brigade is a military formation of the artillery forces of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The brigade is armed with 2S7 "Pion" and PzH 2000 howitzers. The unit took an active part in the liberation of the Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions, and is now helping to contain enemy pressure in key sectors of the front. By decree of the President of Ukraine, the brigade was awarded the honorary distinction "For Courage and Valor."

Responsibilities:

• working with the unit's personnel
• planning and conducting training sessions to improve combat readiness
• supporting and developing team spirit and unit cohesion
• responsibility and the ability to make quick and well-founded decisions
• keeping personal and issued weapons, their mechanisms, and ammunition serviceable and combat-ready
• recruiting and selecting candidates for the artillery battery
• maintaining personnel documentation
• monitoring and supporting the morale and psychological state of fellow soldiers
• monitoring the career growth of privates and sergeants
• acquiring and maintaining a high level of fire and professional training, continuously improving acquired skills both independently and at training centers

Requirements:

• fitness for service by state of health and moral qualities
• a high level of motivation to learn, improve, and achieve success in one's field
• stress resilience
• readiness to work in the zone of active combat operations
• readiness to comply with strict discipline requirements in everyday life and in combat operations, follow commanders' orders, and show reasonable initiative in carrying out assigned tasks
• no alcohol, drug, or gambling dependencies
• combat experience will be an advantage

Conditions:

• mobilization until the end of martial law or contract service
• monetary allowance from 25,000 to 60,000 hryvnias depending on the assigned task and place of service
• possibility of transferring current servicemen
