Senior Gun Layer

Overview

The 43rd Separate Artillery Brigade is a military formation of the artillery forces of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The brigade is armed with 2S7 "Pion" and PzH 2000 howitzers. The unit took an active part in the liberation of the Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions, and is now helping to contain enemy pressure in key sectors of the front. By decree of the President of Ukraine, the brigade was awarded the honorary distinction "For Courage and Valor."

Responsibilities:

  • carrying out combat missions as part of an artillery unit
  • performing calculations, quickly and accurately aiming the gun according to the gun commander's commands
  • continuous monitoring of the readiness of sighting devices and gun-laying mechanisms for combat use
  • ensuring the proper operation, maintenance, and repair of fire control equipment, including optical and electronic systems
  • keeping personal and issued weapons, their mechanisms, and ammunition serviceable and combat-ready
  • acquiring and maintaining a high level of fire and professional training, continuously improving acquired skills both independently and at training centers

Requirements:

  • fitness for service by state of health and moral qualities
  • readiness to work in the zone of active combat operations
  • good physical fitness
  • desire to study new weapon systems, confidently operate them, learn, and improve one's skills
  • stress resilience, ability to quickly adapt to the situation and make balanced decisions
  • readiness to comply with strict discipline requirements in everyday life and in combat operations, follow commanders' orders, and show reasonable initiative in carrying out assigned tasks
  • no alcohol, drug, or gambling dependencies
  • having combat experience or military service will be an advantage

Conditions:

  • mobilization until the end of martial law or contract service
  • possibility of transferring current servicemen
  • monetary allowance from 21,000 to 120,000 hryvnias depending on the assigned task and place of service
