57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade

57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Koshovyi Otaman Kost Hordiienko.

Since its creation, the 57th OMPBr has taken part in key operations in eastern Ukraine. During Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the brigade was actively engaged in the Sievierodonetsk direction, and since 2023 it has taken part in the defense of Avdiivka. In 2025, the brigade's units, including the 34th Battalion "Vovkodavy" (Wolfhounds) and the "Falcon Squad" unit, distinguished themselves in the fighting for Vovchansk in Kharkiv Oblast, effectively using kamikaze drones and artillery to destroy enemy equipment and positions.

The brigade bears the name of Koshovyi Otaman Kost Hordiienko — an outstanding Cossack leader of the 18th century. Its sleeve patch features a stylized arrowhead, symbolizing an offensive spirit and determination. Among the unit's informal traditions is giving its sub-units their own names, such as "Vovkodavy" (Wolfhounds, the 34th Battalion) and "Falcon Squad," which underscores the uniqueness and fighting spirit of each unit.
