115th Separate Mechanized Brigade

The 115th Separate Mechanized Brigade (military unit A4053) is a combat formation of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,

formed in March 2022 in Cherkasy Oblast.

The brigade is part of the Reserve Corps and carries out missions in the most difficult sectors of the front.

Its motto is "Born of Fire," symbolizing its baptism of fire under conditions of full-scale war.

The 115th OMBr was created in March 2022,

in the first month after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion.

The brigade's formation took place under extremely difficult conditions —

under pressure from the enemy's advance, amid the threat of attack even in the deep rear.

The brigade's core was made up of mobilized reservists, volunteers, ATO/JFO veterans,

as well as civilians who had just joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

After a brief period of combat coordination, already in April 2022

units of the 115th OMBr were sent to eastern Ukraine.

The brigade's soldiers took an active part in the battles for Sievierodonetsk, Lysychansk, Bakhmut, and Soledar.

In October 2022, units of the brigade held positions near Donetsk,

including in areas adjacent to the destroyed Donetsk Airport.

From the spring of 2023, the brigade held the defense in the Avdiivka direction.

In April 2024, during a massive Russian offensive

in the Ocheretyne–Novobakhmutivka sector, the brigade's units fought a difficult battle.

Despite the enemy's breakthrough, units of the 115th OMBr conducted defensive operations to the last,

suffering losses but never abandoning their comrades or equipment.
