100th Separate Mechanized Brigade
The 100th Separate Mechanized Brigade is a combat formation of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It was created to strengthen the state's defense capability amid the Russian Federation's armed aggression. The brigade is based in the city of Volodymyr (Volyn Oblast).
Initially it existed as a territorial defense brigade, but was later reorganized into a full-fledged mechanized brigade. It is also known as the "Steel Hundred."
The 100th Brigade was formed in December 2018 as a territorial defense brigade. It developed rapidly, conducted training, and prepared to carry out wartime missions.
With the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022, the brigade immediately joined the defense of the country, carrying out combat missions on the Eastern Front, including in the Lyman direction.
In 2024, the brigade was reorganized into a mechanized one. After the reorganization, it took part in the battles for Ocheretyne and Toretsk, proving itself to be a powerful combat formation capable of conducting active offensive and defensive operations.
