4th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade

The 4th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade is an important mechanized unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, equipped with tanks and armored vehicles, specializing in tank and mechanized operations. The brigade carries out defensive, counteroffensive, infantry support, and other combat missions on the battlefield.

The 4th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade was formed back in the Soviet era, and came under the authority of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the 1990s.

In 2014, the brigade actively took part in combat operations in eastern Ukraine in the ATO/JFO zone, distinguishing itself in the battles for Donetsk Airport, Ilovaisk, and Debaltseve.

During Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the 4th Tank Brigade again rose to defend the state, taking part in numerous operations, including the defense of Kyiv, Kharkiv, and the southern direction.
