151st Separate Mechanized Brigade

The 151st Separate Mechanized Brigade (151 OMBr) is a combat formation of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, created on August 29, 2023.

It is subordinated to the "East" Operational Command and is based in the city of Dnipro.

The brigade's motto: "Our honor is most sacred," as well as the Latin "Futurum est nostrum," which translates as "The future is ours."

The brigade was created under conditions of full-scale war to strengthen the country's defense capability.

Its ranks included both experienced servicemen, including combat veterans, and new recruits who underwent intensive training.

Already in August 2024, the brigade's units took part in combat operations in the Pokrovsk direction, including in the area of Hrodivka, where they resisted the advance of Russian forces.

The brigade's structure includes:
mechanized battalions;
a tank battalion;
an artillery group;
reconnaissance units;
engineer support;
air defense;
logistics;
a medical company.

The brigade's weapons:
a combination of Soviet-era and modern Western equipment;
small arms include modernized AKM assault rifles, as well as Colt Canada C7/C8 rifles;
the vehicle fleet includes BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, "Gvozdika" (2S1) self-propelled howitzers, American Humvee off-road vehicles, and other equipment.

The brigade's traditions and symbolism are linked to Ukrainian Cossack heritage.

The sleeve patch features a shield with a saber and an arrow — elements of the coat of arms of the Kodak Palanka of the Zaporozhian Host.

The symbolism reflects the brigade's offensive character and honors historical heritage.

The brigade includes the "Northern Eagle" unmanned systems battalion, which specializes in working with drones, including FPV kamikaze drones.

One of the unit's pilots, with the call sign "Khaiens," became a symbol of a new generation of Ukrainian servicemen — he joined the military from civilian life with no military experience, but became an effective fighter thanks to skills gained from gaming and technology.

The brigade is actively forming its own combat traditions:

honoring the fallen,

recognizing the best fighters,

introducing the latest approaches to combat operations.

In a short time, 151 OMBr has established itself as a combat-capable and motivated formation of Ukraine's Ground Forces.
