43rd Separate Mechanized Brigade
The 43rd Separate Mechanized Brigade (43 OMBr) is a modern formation of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, formed in response to Russia's full-scale invasion. The brigade actively participates in combat operations in eastern Ukraine, including in the Kupiansk direction.
The brigade was created on March 1, 2023, to strengthen Ukraine's defense capability. After formation, personnel underwent intensive training at ranges in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, as well as in NATO countries — Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic. This international training helped build combat experience and improve the units' effectiveness.
In June 2024, the brigade fought in the Kupiansk direction. On October 1, 2024, the President of Ukraine presented the brigade with its battle flag — a symbol of honor, courage, and heroism.
As of January 2026, the brigade holds the defense in the Kharkiv direction.
