143rd Separate Mechanized Brigade

Subordination: "North" Operational Command

Deployment: Chernihiv Oblast (a cadre formation in peacetime).

2023: Formation of the brigade as a reserve rifle brigade within the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Later in 2023: Reorganization of the reserve rifle brigade into an infantry brigade.

April 2024: The brigade's participation in combat operations in the area of the settlement of Kalynivka near Bakhmut.

Early 2025: Reorganization of the brigade from infantry to mechanized.

"RUBAK" strike drone unit, which not only operates but also manufactures UAVs.

Infantry fighting vehicles: BMP-1, BMP-2.

Armored personnel carriers: BTR-70, BTR-80, BTR-3, BTR-4.

Tanks: T-64BV, T-72, T-80.

Armored vehicles: HMMWV (Humvee), MaxxPro (US-made).

Air defense

MANPADS: 9K38 "Igla", FIM-92 Stinger (US-made).

Anti-aircraft guns: ZU-23-2.

The 143rd OMBr places great emphasis on honoring heroes and preserving historical memory. In particular, the brigade marks the Day of the Heroes of the Revolution, which is important to the Ukrainian diaspora and helps promote the continuity of Ukrainian military tradition and the heroism of soldiers from the era of the liberation struggles to the present day.
