17th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade
The 17th Separate Heavy Mechanized Kryvyi Rih Brigade named after Kostiantyn Pestushko (17 OVMBr, military unit A3283, field post V3675) is a formation of tank troops within the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Under the organizational structure, the brigade is part of the "East" Operational Command.
The brigade is named after Kostiantyn Pestushko — otaman of the Steppe Division, chief otaman of the Kholodnyi Yar Republic.
The brigade traces its history back to 1940, when the 174th Rifle Division was formed in the city of Chebarkul.
In 1944, the division was given the honorary name "Kryvyi Rih" for breaking through the enemy's defense at the city of Kryvyi Rih.
In October 2000, the unit was named the "17th Guards Tank Kryvyi Rih Order of the Red Banner and Suvorov Division."
In September 2003, the brigade was reorganized into the "17th Guards Tank Kryvyi Rih Order of the Red Banner and Suvorov Brigade."
On August 22, 2019, the President of Ukraine granted the brigade the honorary name "named after Kostiantyn Pestushko."
The unit consists of:
