The 40th Separate Artillery Brigade named after Grand Duke Vytautas is more than a combat unit — it is a large family with its own traditions, values, and history, forged by war.

Every year servicemen celebrate Brigade Day — May 25, the date the unit was founded. On this day, the best soldiers are honored, the brigade's combat path is recalled, and tribute is paid to comrades who gave their lives for Ukraine.

One of the unit's main traditions is combat brotherhood. It is born during the execution of missions and lasts forever. Even after their service ends, veterans maintain ties with the brigade and their comrades-in-arms.

Personnel actively take part in the military-patriotic education of young people, hold meetings with schoolchildren and students, share their combat experience, and talk about service in the artillery.

A special place among the traditions is occupied by honoring the memory of fallen soldiers. Their names remain forever in the brigade's history and in the hearts of their comrades.

An important event for every serviceman is the initiation as an artilleryman, which recruits undergo after their first successfully completed live-fire exercises, becoming a full-fledged part of the artillery brotherhood.

The 40th Brigade also maintains close cooperation with volunteers, benefactors, and communities from various corners of Ukraine. It is precisely this unity of the front and the rear that helps withstand hardship, preserve fighting spirit, and confidently bring Victory closer.
