The 47th Separate Artillery Brigade named after Semen Loshchenko (47 OABr) is a formation within the Missile Troops and Artillery of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Formed on the basis of one of the training centers in June 2022, the brigade was equipped with older-model 152mm artillery systems. A few months after its creation and combat coordination, the brigade's battalions began carrying out combat missions along all the country's defensive lines during the full-scale invasion: the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Kharkiv, and Kursk directions, the northern lines, and the defense of the city of Kyiv.
At the same time, a gradual transition to new Ukrainian-made weapon systems took place. The brigade became one of the first to receive Ukrainian 2S22 "Bohdana" guns and began actively using them in combat. As of early 2026, 47 OABr has fully transitioned to Ukrainian "Bohdana" 155mm artillery systems in both their self-propelled and towed modifications.
In August 2024, battalions of 47 OABr took direct part in the Kursk operation from its very start to its conclusion.
On October 1, 2025, 47 OABr received its Battle Flag.
On December 4, 2025, the brigade was awarded the honorary distinction "For Courage and Valor" by decree of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
On April 7, 2026, in accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine of April 7, 2026, the 47th Separate Artillery Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was given the honorary name "named after Semen Loshchenko."
Today, the 47th Separate Artillery Brigade named after Semen Loshchenko is a modern, combat-capable unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that successfully carries out all the missions assigned to it.

The 47th Separate Artillery Brigade named after Semen Loshchenko has its own combat traditions, shaped under wartime conditions. Brigade Day is celebrated every year on the date the unit was founded (June 23, 2022) — accompanied by an award ceremony, honoring the fallen, and formal events. Personnel maintain the tradition of combat brotherhood: even after demobilization, veterans keep in touch with the unit. Artillerymen take part in patriotic events, speak with schoolchildren and students, and hold military-patriotic events. Honoring fallen comrades is an important tradition. There is also a tradition of initiating recruits as artillerymen — a ceremony held after their first live-fire exercises. The brigade actively cooperates with local communities, volunteers, and benefactors, which strengthens ties with the rear and boosts morale.
