48th Separate Artillery Brigade
The 48th Separate Artillery Brigade (48 OABr) is a young formation of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, formed during the full-scale war, which has been actively engaged in combat since January 2024. The brigade is based in Poltava Oblast, is part of the 10th Army Corps, and has distinguished itself in the Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and other directions, destroying the enemy.
The 48th Separate Artillery Brigade named after Colonel Hryhorii Chyzhevskyi of the UPR Army (48 OABr) was created in 2023 — during the Russian Federation's large-scale armed aggression against Ukraine.
The first servicemen of 48 OABr — a combined UAV battery of the artillery reconnaissance battalion — began carrying out combat missions as early as May 2023, in the Zaporizhzhia direction.
Our brigade's artillery battalions rose to defend the country in January 2024 in the Zaporizhzhia direction.
On December 6, 2025, for the exemplary performance of assigned tasks in defending the territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine, the 48th Separate Artillery Brigade was given the honorary name "named after Colonel Hryhorii Chyzhevskyi of the UPR Army."
On August 24, 2025, our brigade received its Battle Flag — a symbol of courage, resilience, and fidelity to military duty. This is a recognition of the combat successes of our artillerymen, who hold back enemy pressure every day and make incredible efforts to repel aggression.

The brigade's sergeant corps is more than leadership. It is experience, example, and responsibility.
It is the sergeants who work directly with personnel, train them, coordinate the actions of crews, squads, and teams, and are responsible for discipline and coordination.
They are the first to take on responsibility under difficult conditions, pass on combat experience, and ensure the stable functioning of both personnel and artillery.
The sergeant corps is the commander's backbone and reliable support for every soldier. Being a leader means understanding that every serviceman is an individual. That means being able to listen and hear. Being able to draw conclusions and, importantly, make timely decisions.
Being a sergeant is an honorable but difficult mission.
