The 55th Separate Artillery Brigade was formed in 2016 in response to the need of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for powerful artillery units to conduct modern warfare. From the very beginning of its existence, the brigade actively took part in combat operations in eastern Ukraine, providing effective fire support to infantry and mechanized units. Between 2016 and 2021, the unit went through several stages of equipment and tactics modernization, improving its ability to operate under conditions of hybrid warfare. With the start of Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, the 55th Brigade actively took part in defending various directions, including in the areas of Zaporizhzhia, Donbas, and Kherson Oblast. It used both tube and rocket artillery to engage enemy positions, equipment, and command posts. Thanks to the high level of training of its personnel and coordinated actions, the brigade earned a reputation as one of the most effective artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In addition, the unit constantly adapts to new challenges, adopting modern fire control and adjustment systems. Today, the 55th Separate Artillery Brigade is an important link in Ukraine's defense system, playing a key role in counteroffensive operations.
