125th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade
The 125th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade is an operational reserve unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that carries out missions of territorial defense, protection of important facilities, and support for local security. The brigade forms a defensive shield in its region, mobilizes the local population, and cooperates with other military units to ensure stability in its area of responsibility.
The 125th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade was created in response to the deteriorating security situation in 2014, when there was a need to form local forces to defend Ukrainian territory. Since its inception, the brigade has taken part in training volunteers and guarding strategic facilities. After the start of Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, the brigade actively joined combat operations, conducting patrols, defense, and support for other units. It continues to build its potential and plays an important role in the country's territorial defense system.
